Recently it has took place in the headquarters of INTIA ( Navarra´s Institute for Agrifood Technology and Infrastructures) in Villaba (Pamplona) a new training event about GESTAR. This conference is intended for technicians of the institute specialized in the design of farm irrigation facilities (solid state sprinkler and drip irrigation).
The aim of the day was to enable the evaluation of new tools being implemented in GESTAR for plot irrigation design, that will be available soon, and to establish a collaboration in the debugging task. INTIA is a public company under the Department of Rural Development and Environment, of the Government of Navarre, who among other duties, serves for irrigation development and modernization in the of Navarre´s territory.
The coming days 5th and 6th February 2013, will take place in Madrid (Spain), a training course in the use of tools GESTAR for the design and management of pressurized irrigation systems with emphasis in modelling and optimization of water and energy use
This introductory two days course is exclusivelly intended to SEIASA staff.
SEIASA is the instrumental company of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment in Spain, in charge of modernization and consolidation of irrigation in the National Irrigation Plan.
SEIASA, a company operating all over the national territory, has been regularly user of GESTAR in its various regional offices as a design tool for large projects under their mandates. As part of the services associated to a recent acquisition of a number of new licenses, it is included this course, that will introduce to a selection of SEIASA´s technicians the most important GESTAR resources.
GESTAR has a sophisticated but user friendly set of tools and modules that allow the optimal configuration and regulation of pumping stations, and supplies subsequent detailed energy analysis. It is provided through innovative modeling and optimization algorithms achieving reliable, robust and simple engineering strategies.
In order to compare the performance of GESTAR 2010 versus EPANET2, it has been developed a Technical Note " Is EPANET2 an adequate tool for energy and hydraulic analysis in irrigation systems? Comparison with GESTAR 2010" (In spanish language), which is available in pdf format in the web document´s downloads section.
Remember you must to have logged on this website with your user name and password in order to download files. Create Account.
That review will be useful to understand key points for pumping system design, and reducing energy costs. It will explain why GESTAR 2010 contains the best technical resources available in this particular field of design and management engineering for irrigation networks.
