Using the model proposed by (Espinosa et al., 2020), once some parameters of water allowance and efficiency have been adjusted, an increase in water and energy consumption in Spanish irrigation is deduced, as a result of modernization processes, with a noticeable rebound effect, more in line with the observed trends than the original publication.
